White Weddings in Wellington

Hasn’t the weather in Wellington been amazing! I love the snow, so beautiful! Rose, Madeleine, Blair and I had such fun building our Snowman on our lawn last night. As we were watching the snow fall, Madeleine said to me, “ it would be so pretty if you could get married in the snowflakes”

I have to admit I quite agree. I worked on a lovely wedding at Millbrook in Queenstown late June last year. As a wedding planner in Wellington you have to be ready for any kind of weather but snow, ice and freezing temperatures are a whole new ball game. Luckily Jane and Nick where blessed with one of amazing prefect days, beautiful blue skies and crisp fresh air. Jane was determined to walk down the aisle without her fur and she did! The sun appeared in perfect timing on the garden ceremony and they both looked stunning with the mountains behind them. How lucky the local photographers are to work in such beautiful surrounding where every outlook and view is absolutely magnificent. It made me think of the many super talented photographers in Wellington who would have such a great time with locations like that. Our wedding photographers in Wellington have to adapt to many weather conditions at the drop of a hat and remain claim all at the same time ( as well as keeping the whole bridal party happy and stress free).

I was having coffee with the lovely Amy Schulz (photographer) as the snow fell on Monday, she couldn’t keep her eyes of it and I could tell she dying to run outside with her camera, totally inspired! Amy emailed me these gorgeous photos of her fun in the snow, I have to admit her snowman is better than ours. I also love the images of Boomrock in the snow. Justine and the team do incredible job at this very special wedding location and it looks even more amazing covered in snow. If only we could pre book snow and sunshine for the winter months for Wellington Winter Weddings………. wow!

Perhaps they will be the hot new thing in Wellington? Every bride looks great in a fur wrap and as my good friend Carl from Salute says, everyone looks good in candle-light! The perfect combo!
